First Aid

It is essential for each traveller to carry a first aid kit with basic drugs.
It is also very important to know the local telephone number of emergency medical services.
Each traveller has the opportunity to follow a training course with our organization (or with other centres abroad for which we are pleased to let you have their addresses) to enable you to get acquainted with basic first aid.
The ability to respond quickly and effectively to prevent any worsening of an incident or accident is important, especially in developing countries.
The training program we are offering include:
Emergency first response EFR, or Dan oxygen provider DAN
These first aid coursed are intended for everyone.
DAN’s (Diving Alert Network) objective is to provide statistics of incidents in the water (diving incidents) and medical expert advice. They broadcast the most recent information and are organizing seminars.

PADI = Professional Association of Diving Instructors
EFR   = Emergency First Aid
DAN  = Diving Alert Network

EFR = Premiers secours d’urgence/Emergency First Aid

Embassy

Embassies and Consulates abroad are very important as they can provide assistance for travellers in difficulties.
Obtain always in advance the location and telephone numbers of the Embassies of the countries where you are going to travel. As a general rule¸ their services are to be paid but in some cases, you may have an insurance of your country which may cover certain expenses (travel insurance)

DFAE

 Advice to travelers in brief

The travel advice provided by the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs FDFA gives information on the security situation abroad. They complement the other sources. Travellers are solely responsible for the preparation and organization of their trip.
Consider in particular certain recommendations before your departure:

Customs formalities

–    Obtain information as soon as possible from the Embassy of your country of destination about the conditions of entry and residence (required identity documents, visa conditions for ordinary passports and temporary/emergency passports), as well as on the provisions governing the import and export of animals, electronic devices¸ antiques, objects of cultural heritage, etc. Also check if the validity of your visa covers the duration of your stay.
–    In many countries, minors travelling alone or accompanied by only one parent need a special authorization of the parents or of the non-accompanying parent. The Embassy of the country of destination provides the necessary information.
–    Respect the Swiss prescriptions governing the importation of goods purchased abroad.

We can help you to protect the area around your resort. We will do some online petitions that influence global environmental policies; we provide some on-line data collections (statistics of the Lake Geneva beach clean up) etc.
We actively participate in environmental protections, we provide counsel and recommendations and « push » people to become « green ».
Also, we are very involved in the « PROJECT AWARE » project and we are providing you with the following information: The Foundation is a growing movement to protect the ocean planet
The story of PROJECT AWARE :
More than 20 years ago, a group of environmental advocates at the Professional Association of Diving Instructors (PADI) founded Project AWARE. They were deeply concerned about emerging threats to the underwater world. For two decades Project AWARE’s mission was to educate divers about emerging ocean issues and encourage participation in underwater conservation activities. More than 1000 dive operators and countless dive volunteers committed to marine protection efforts worldwide.
Today, Project AWARE is doing more. On World Oceans Day, June 8th 2011, Project AWARE flipped the switch on an unprecedented global movement of divers acting in their own communities to protect oceans. We support a movement for divers around the world to combine efforts–online and offline–for positive and long-lasting environmental change.
We hope you’ll join Project AWARE and thousands of divers in protecting our ocean–one dive at a time.

Country of animals (animal reserves but also of diamonds)!! Luxury hotels and appointment of hunting (lodges) exist, but on the whole the Botswana. Heat, dust, road not appointed (except Large Pin)- and animals that can suddenly throw on your path.. View- panoramas huge, grand, unique, unforgettable: isolated landscapes as diverse as deserts and lagoons; incredible wealth of wildlife, Lions to the leopards, giraffes and hippos.

The Botswana, a former British protectorate of the Bechuanaland, (area greater than the size of France) with only approx. 1.3 million inhabitants, of which the nomads Bushmen in the mysterious Kalahari desert.

The majority of the population, mostly rural, focuses on the borders of South Africa and Zimbabwe. (continental country, Botswana also adjoins the Namibia and touches the Zambia, in the north, at the confluence of the Zambezi and the Chobe river.)

The cities, and first of all Gabarone, (capital), are not without interest, but they are used before any of the springboard for the major attraction of Botswana: 17% of the territory dedicated to the conservation of wildlife and nature in general. The Chobe National Park is home to an immense herds of elephants and buffaloes. The Gemsbok National Park, you will see the lions and cheetahs. The reserve the more original is that of Okavango Delta, in the north; the waters of the vast interior delta of the planet – surrounded by a desert – attract elephants, zebras, hippos and giraffes thirst. You can browse the places in dugout, but do not take a crocodile which makes its NAP for a tree trunk floating….
