First Aid
It is essential for each traveller to carry a first aid kit with basic drugs.
It is also very important to know the local telephone number of emergency medical services.
Each traveller has the opportunity to follow a training course with our organization (or with other centres abroad for which we are pleased to let you have their addresses) to enable you to get acquainted with basic first aid.
The ability to respond quickly and effectively to prevent any worsening of an incident or accident is important, especially in developing countries.
The training program we are offering include:
Emergency first response EFR, or Dan oxygen provider DAN
These first aid coursed are intended for everyone.
DAN’s (Diving Alert Network) objective is to provide statistics of incidents in the water (diving incidents) and medical expert advice. They broadcast the most recent information and are organizing seminars.

Embassies and Consulates abroad are very important as they can provide assistance for travellers in difficulties.
Obtain always in advance the location and telephone numbers of the Embassies of the countries where you are going to travel. As a general rule¸ their services are to be paid but in some cases, you may have an insurance of your country which may cover certain expenses (travel insurance)

The travel advice provided by the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs FDFA gives information on the security situation abroad. They complement the other sources. Travellers are solely responsible for the preparation and organization of their trip.
Consider in particular certain recommendations before your departure:
Customs formalities
– Obtain information as soon as possible from the Embassy of your country of destination about the conditions of entry and residence (required identity documents, visa conditions for ordinary passports and temporary/emergency passports), as well as on the provisions governing the import and export of animals, electronic devices¸ antiques, objects of cultural heritage, etc. Also check if the validity of your visa covers the duration of your stay.
– In many countries, minors travelling alone or accompanied by only one parent need a special authorization of the parents or of the non-accompanying parent. The Embassy of the country of destination provides the necessary information.
– Respect the Swiss prescriptions governing the importation of goods purchased abroad.

Les Conseils aux voyageurs en bref
Les Conseils aux voyageurs fournis par le Département fédéral des affaires étrangères (DFAE) donnent des informations sur la situation sécuritaire à l’étranger. Ils viennent compléter les autres sources. Les voyageurs sont seuls responsables de la préparation et de l’organisation de leur voyage.
Pensez notamment à certaines recommandations avant le départ
Formalités douanières
• Informez-vous dès que possible auprès de l’ambassade de votre pays de destination sur les conditions d’entrée et de séjour (documents d’identité exigés, conditions de visa pour passeports ordinaires et provisoires/passeports d’urgence), ainsi que sur les prescriptions régissant l’importation et l’exportation d’animaux, d’appareils électroniques, d’antiquités, d’objets du patrimoine culturel, etc. Vérifiez également si le visa correspond à la durée de séjour demandée.
• Dans de nombreux pays, les mineurs voyageant seuls ou accompagnés d’un seul parent ont besoin d’une autorisation spéciale des parents ou du parent non accompagnant. L’ambassade du pays de destination fournit les renseignements nécessaires.
